Today, I wanted to give a shout out to all the Blogher NaBloPoMo writers out there.
We are all trying to come up with something to write about every single day of this month, and believe it or not, it can become difficult to come up with something. Things seem to come easier to me when I am not thinking about writing every. single. day.
So, curl up like my handsome cat Mordecai and take some time to visit some of the writers on this list. You'll be glad you did!

Happy Birthday, dear Sarah!
Many of you will remember Sarah, but for those that don't she was a blogger, tweeter, friend, confidant, warrior, and most importantly, she was a mother, wife, and daughter. I could keep going listing all of the titles she held, but you get the picture.
I'll never forget the days I "talked" to Sarah via our blogs, twitter, and facebook. I'll never forget meeting her face-to-face, hugging her neck and spending time with her here in Oklahoma. And, I will never forget losing her.

When they visited Oklahoma they stayed at The Pioneer Woman's lodge, and we had a shootout.
Twelve days after I was diagnosed with breast cancer, she left all of her pain behind as she left this world to be with our Lord.

Her friends and family were able to have a celebration of Sarah's life, which I couldn't attend. Her amazing husband, Paul, was very kind. He sent me a box of head scarves, bandanas, chocolate from the celebration of her life, our photo and the program for that day. I wrote about that box here.
I kept those head scarves and bandanas for a while after my hair started growing back because I am a sentimental soul. I couldn't pass them on, not yet. Then one day I received a text message from our daughter-in-law saying that she had a friend that was just diagnosed with breast cancer. The time was right for me to box them up, and pass them on. I think Sarah would be glad to know that she is still helping others.
I did keep the head scarf that Sarah is wearing in that photo. That one is going to be framed with our photo together.
Several people that I know received free eReaders, nooks, or kindles for Christmas. One of my favorite things to do is browse the books that are out there, especially the free ones. There are a few websites that list several free books daily, so I thought I would link to them for you here.

Today over at Testify we have a guest contributor. Her name is Katy, and she works for Compassion.

After reading several tweets that people had posted about this post I ran across one from @wiseabe. I clicked over when I read that they are trying to raise money for another young lady, as well as others, to go to college. They are selling messenger bags that are made out of recycled burlap coffee bean sacks, and a portion of the proceeds goes to help these students in third world countries.

They have partnered up with Compassion to help as many as they can. All we have to do is buy a bag, carry it, and share the story when people ask about it. And believe me, people are going to ask you where you got this bag. They are very nice bags, and are styled to be for both men and women. They would make great gifts too!

I am seriously considering giving one of these babies away. Would you be interested in winning one of these, and helping send kids like Noe Abe, and Ana to college. Of course, Noe has a few more years before he goes off to college but there are many other kids that need our help.
