Thank you guys so much for keeping us entertained while we were at the hospital. The story was appropriately silly! I laughed through the whole thing!!
As soon as we slow down a bit, I will have McD take photos for me to show you guys what going through this is like.
I'm dealing with a drain again, but my doctor was nice and just gave me one. Yeah!
Hope everyone has a great weekend! I'll be off of here until Monday.
Thank you for all of your prayers and support!! I love you guys!!
This morning, as I write this, I am trying to keep busy so I won't think about how thirsty and hungry I am. My surgery is at noon today, and I am not supposed to have anything to eat or drink before hand. In fact, I couldn't even get a drink in the middle of the night. That midnight cut off is rough. Scroll down and read yesterday's post to get more of an idea of what is going on in my life today, if you missed it.
Yesterday, I asked my Facebook friends what kind of entertainment we should have today. I think the Story Time theme won. So today's post will all be in the comment section. I am going to start the story with a few words, and let you guys keep the story going. Hopefully there will be more than just one or two of you play along. I know I really don't need to say this, but I am going to anyway. Please keep it clean. Our grandkids see this, and they are old enough to read. :)
On to the comment section...
As some of you might know, I write book reviews over at Everybody Needs A Little Romance. Today we have a contest going over there with prizes and all.
Head on over there and try to figure out which one is me! :)
Everybody Needs A Little Romance Contest
If you want to play along, and want a hint or two just let me know.
Have a great day.
A couple of years ago my sister and I started a new tradition. She and her family come to my house and I take their family photos for their Christmas cards. I'm no professional photographer, but since I dawdle in photography she seems to think I can take their photos. Sometimes they turn out okay, and others...well, they turn out.
It never fails, at some point during their visit, our almost four-year-old nephew feels the need to exercise. Who are we to say no?
He always goes for the speed bag first.
He is quite tall for his age. He is going to be 4 in just a few days, but he is wearing size 5/6. He's a tall, skinny dude.
After the punching bags he goes for the Bowflex. The ancient bowflex.
Nobody get too excited, we have the weight on 5 pounds. He was tearing through that 5 pounds so fast we had to tell him to slow down.
That lasted all of a minute, maybe a minute and a half. Seriously, I was lucky to get a pic or two.
The elliptical was next. He was a little leary of it at first, but then he figured it out and actually stayed on it for a few minutes.
But he wasn't finished yet! On to the weights!
Again, no one panic, they were only set on 5 pounds, and I think he did half a rep. But he was determined to try.
He is almost finished with his workout.
And lastly, the Bosu ball workout. This might have been his favorite. He played exercised on this for a long time. In fact, his Daddy and his big brother tried it out too. Everyone loves the Bosu.
Now, if you are wondering why his shirt is so dirty or why he had work boots on during his workout be sure to check back tomorrow so you can see him at work.
We love playing the Wii when our family is here. I love taking photos of them playing.
In January of 2010 I posted the Many Faces of Wii. This post isn't as long as that one, but it is cute! I liked seeing how much my nephew Garrett has grown.
Now we have my nephew Lawrence playing.
His dad had to help him out just a little bit.
He was racing his big brother, Garrett.
Lawrence came in 12th, but in his mind he won! His big brother was kind enough to let him think that.
I have discovered Just Dance 3, and am using it as a workout. :) I love it! I need to find 1 & 2 now.
What is your favorite Wii game?
This past summer we met my sister and two nephews at the OKC Zoo. I posted about it a while back, you should take a look there's some cute pics of McD and our nephew Lawrence.
As we were leaving we found a parking space for Facebook Fans. Seriously!
It is very well marked!
I know where I'm parking next time! :)
As I type this, we are driving to the airport. We are going to Rhode Island for McD's work.
Thankfully, the trip fell on the week before my fifth chemo treatment so my doctor told us that I could go. Yippee!!
The last time McD had a meeting off somewhere I wasn't able to go, and it nearly killed us. I think it was because of all this cancer nonsense. We were close before, but we are closer than close these days.
Rhode Island will never be the same!!
Anyone have any suggestions as to what I should do and see? Maybe where to eat?
On the 16th of August I posted this little idea, and surprisingly some of you were interested in playing along.
I CAN'T WAIT TO GET STARTED!!
But, I am still waiting to hear from a few of you. So, if you have already emailed me your addresses, etc then great, please disregard. If you haven't, then shame on you. LOL Just kidding!
I have sent two emails out, and if you haven't received them then please check your junk mail. :)
Thanks again for playing along!
And if you didn't see the original post for the encouraging mail idea, it isn't too late. Check it out HERE.
Back in June, I wrote about the best "E"mail I've ever received. You see, it wasn't electronic mail, it was encouraging mail.
Since being diagnosed with breast cancer I have received at least one card almost every day. It is encouraging. It makes me feel good.
Sure, it is nice to get an electronic mail from people, but the actual old fashioned way to send a card just can't be beat.
When I wrote about this back in June, I asked if anyone was interested in receiving some of the old fashioned encouraging mail. A few were interested, and I dropped the ball (chemo brain is a killer sometimes), but am now picking that ball up and running with it.
Here's the deal. If you are interested in the old fashioned encouraging mail idea leave a comment or email me. Friday afternoon I will sit down and send you the details.
Another part of this idea of mine is to send encouraging mail to some of our military. I have a list of four men that are serving our country, and I know they could use cards and/or care packages. If you are interested in encouraging these guys, please leave a comment or email me.
Don't you think this could be fun?
