Wisdom:

Termites eat wood twice as fast when listening to heavy metal music.

I wrote this post yesterday and saved it to be posted this morning, but something happened and it disappeared.  Why is it that the second time you write something to post is never as good as the first time you write it?

I had some really intelligent commentary on here about little termites running around with ipods or something like that.  Can't you just picture it now?  Little termites jammin' to Ozzy's Crazy Train.  HA!

(I guess we can see who are the romantics between the Russians and the Italians.)

(While reading all of these I kept seeing the English proverbs and assumed they were the American proverbs. Then I stumbled on a few of the American proverbs.  Look at the difference in the proverbs for Laugh.)

He who laughs last, laughs best.  -  English or American?  

Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone. - English or American?

Okay all you smarty pants out there.  Which do you think is the American proverb and which is the English proverb?

This isn't really a contest, but be thinking about proverbs of your own.  Next week there will be a contest and the best proverb will win.  I don't know if I should tease you with what the prize will be though.  Hmmm.

Bikini Season

Ladies, bikini season is upon us - well for some of us anyway. Guys, you can use this if you ever get a shaving rash on your face or neck.

If you get a shaving rash, razor burn, etc. puncture a vitamin E capsule (or if you have Vit E oil you can use it), squish out the contents of the capsule and mix with a little petroleum jelly. Then gently spread the mixture on the irritated skin.

I did a little research on the questions I asked all of you about the garlic, ginger and lemons. Here is what I found:

Storing garlic: The Food Network says to store garlic in a cool dry place, not in the refrigerator or freezer. Freezing garlic compromises its texture and taste.

Storing fresh ginger: The Food Network says that if you would like to keep the ginger for just a week or so, to just put it in a paper bag and store it in the vegetable crisper of your refrigerator.

And the Lemons - how could I forget the lemons? I loved the idea to juice them and put the juice in the ice trays to use later. My brain just isn't working so I can't remember off the top of my head whose idea it was. I will link to you this evening. :) Maybelline, it was Maybelline's idea. It is a great idea!
