Punky giving Poppy a shoulder rub.
She is going to take after her Grandma. Back in the day, or should I say back when I couldn't figure out what I wanted to do with my life, I went to massage school. It was a blast. I really had fun and I learned a lot. I worked as a massage therapist for almost 3 years and then it happened. After dying and coming back to life, and my healing period...I had lost my clientele . I was okay with it because I needed to do something a little less strenuous. Believe it or not, it is a lot of work to do massage. The hardest part of the job for me was the feet. Oh.My.Heck. It was so gross. I had to put a lot of cream on my hands and go to my happy place. I was like a robot. If I didn't have enough cream on my hands I couldn't do the feet. It was like a barrier. I know that is strange, but I had to get through it somehow.
Back to Punky.
When asking Punky if she was going to be a massage therapist, she makes a face and says no. She is going to be a doctor.
And you know what...I hope she is!

When we visit the kids we are involved or try to be involved in everything possible with them. This includes bath time. Although I was not involved in giving them the baths, their Daddy had that covered, I made sure I got some nice tasteful shots.
In the photo above I had told Poohs to strike a pose, and this is what he came up with. But then...
he went goofy. Silly boy!
They are growing up so fast. I spoke to them yesterday and they told me what they will be for Halloween this year. Poohs will be Darth Vader and Punky will be Princess Leia. Then their Mom got on the phone and told me that they are going to be dressing up as well as the kids. Jer will be Darth Vader and Em will be Princess Leia. That is going to be too cute! Oh how I wish I could be there.
I was skipping around blogland today and guess who has something up about Darth Vader today, just guess. Okay, go and see who calls him Mr. Vader.
As promised, here is the video of Poohs dancing. I hope you like it!
I am a day behind this week, I guess because of the holiday weekend, but our regularly scheduled house update will be tomorrow.

Diego (Poohs) on the zip line.
For two years now, Poohs and Punky have talked about coming to Grandma Julie and Poppy's to go on the zip line, just like Dora. Over time it became "just like Dora and Diego." When they arrived on their last visit that is the first thing they wanted to do, but it was too dark. They patiently waited until the next day to take their rides and they loved it! We were a bit concerned that they would not be able to hold themselves up the whole way, but not only did they hold themselves up the whole way, they did it over and over.
Here's Miss Dora (Punky) is looking Hollywood on her way down the zip line. The night before they left we had a cookout. While Poppy and Daddy were getting the fire ready the kiddos wanted us to take the on the zip line, in the dark. They said they didn't think Dora had done a zip line in the dark and they wanted to be the first. They were, we each zipped on down that line in the dark.
Thanks to our lovely daughter-in-law for taking these photos of the goings on while I was at work. I usually just have to hear all about stuff, but this time I passed along my spy camera and was able to see these.
The Nature Walk. This is the first time the kids have been old enough on one of their trips to really go on a Nature walk with their Daddy and their Poppy. Daddy could have gone on and on, but that the kiddos aren't quite big enough to handle the whole place in one day yet. They pooped out a little sooner than he would have liked. He still has another pretty awesome canyon to explore. Maybe today.
On the walk they found many treasures. Poohs just strikes a pose, but Punky is holding her new found treasure - the bone. It is the bone of an old dead cow and it has been there for years and years. I guess the man that had this place before us just left the carcasses where they fell because there are bones everywhere. One day I will pick them all up. But for now they will have to remain there, untouched, adding character to the canyon.
The man that owned this land before we did is a doctor. One day I brought a friend out to show her the place and she saw the bones. She said, "Wow, now I know what he does with his problem patients." You really had to be there. She is the same person that said, "I should have signaled."
This is how I am going to spend my weekend. With these two guys, and their mommy & daddy of course. We plan on taking a wagon ride, riding horses, and visiting Grandmother. Who knows what else we will do.
As you know, Saturday morning I was concerned about getting McD to the big "baby shower." And if you read Saturday's post, you know that we were having some problems with a particular cow having her calf. McD was a little worked up because I was making him go to a "baby shower." I think he was trying to get out of going a little bit, but I had already asked Slick to help me get him out of town by a certain time. Slick came through and we made it to the "baby shower" right on time.
Pamela, the reason I was not taking photos of the birth was because it was not going to be a happy birth. You know, we have seen photos by Ree of their vet with his arm up the hind-end of the cow to preg check. Well, our cowboy had both arms up the hind end working a dead calf out. We have to do this in order to save the cow. Believe me, it isn't something they enjoy doing.
McD got home and was not in a good mood. He wanted to be right there helping with the cow, right in the thick of things. Here I was whisking him away. I got my rump chewed, but I held back. I wanted to say something like, "Hey numb nuts, this is all for you!" But I knew I had to keep the secret. Then P3 called and asked to speak to me, I just knew he was going to give it away. McD asked what he said, and of course I made something up. But this time he didn't believe me and questioned me about it. But he gave up when I didn't budge from my ridiculous story.
When we got to Grandmother's no one was there. I was so glad. I didn't want to walk into a house full of people and someone say, "Where's P3 and Sweet Pea?" Then P3 calls again, and asks to talk to me again. Now I know he is giving it away, but we didn't. I hung up the phone and asked McD to run to the pick-up and get something. He did, and got the surprise we hoped for. I wanted them to walk in on him so I could get a picture when he saw them, but P3 had another idea. It was his surprise, so I went with it. McD called me a liar for the rest of the day, but each time he said it his smile was bigger than the time before.
We got him. Now he probably won't believe another word I say.
Here is what the surprise was all about, Sweet Pea. Grandmother let us all meet at her house, and I think she loved it. Here she is with Sweet Pea.
When Poohs and Punky were tiny little babies I was constantly snapping photos of them. Constantly! Then when they got old enough to move around while I was trying to take photos I had to figure out a way to get them to pose for my photos. Thank goodness for digital cameras or it wouldn't have ever gotten photos of them.
I would take photos and then I would show them the photo I had just taken. It got to where they would want me to take a picture and then they would immediately want to look at it. That was fine with me. It kept them posing. Over Halloween last year they showed me their camera. It was a yellow pretend job and they loved it. They posed me and pretended to let me look at the picture on the back of the camera as soon as they took it. We went throughout the house posing with different objects. While we were running around the house with their yellow camera a thought entered my mind, they need digital cameras of their own. Yeah, yeah I know, they are only 4 years old. We had to have an early Christmas with them due to the fact that they were leaving the country for Christmas, (Mexico). I thought it would be a great idea to give them the digital cameras at Thanksgiving so they could take them on the trip with them. That is what we did. Here are a few shots of my future photographer, Poohs. Punky didn't get the hang of the camera too quick. So, she wasn't as interested in it.
Here Poohs is taking a picture of his Momma.
Here he is showing her the photo.
Oh, Poohs taking Poppy's picture.
Finally, he is sitting with his cousin, Lynard, and she is teaching him the art of taking a photo together.
He is going to be a fine photographer one day.
Our little Punky can hardly keep her hands off her new cousin, Sweet Pea. If she is not holding her she is watching her, rubbing her or asking to hold her. She and Poohs both discuss how small she is, how little her hands and feet are, and how she is just too tiny to do anything. It is funny how they take what the adults say about the baby and put into their own words.

This was supposed to be a really mean/mad look. Does it look very mean or mad to you? Here is what happened...
About a year ago the twins discovered Cinnamon Discs. I usually have some in my purse just in case I feel like I have bad breath, or if McD does. Anyhow, on one of our visits Poohs & Punky were riding with us and I got a piece of candy out of my purse. What was I thinking?! Of course a 3 to 4 year old is going to want a piece. I was a bit worried because it was cinnamon and it was going to be too hot. They call it, "too spicy." That is what we used to say when they wanted to try our food and they didn't need to. So they adopted the phrase. Imagine that. All I could do was give them a piece of candy and hope for the best.
Now when we go to Creede we HAVE to have the candy with us or we have to go and find some. What was I thinking going up there without any? Shame on me. Well, we went searching for our candy and in a town that small it is very difficult to find. There are only three stores that might possibly carry the special candy, and one of them was closed. I did find some Cinnamon Fire Jolly Ranchers. Again, the worrying began. These candies were going to be hotter than the others. I mean come on, it says FIRE.
I got in the Jeep and began telling them how these pieces of candy might be hotter than the other kind. If they didn't like it or it was too hot, they could spit it out. We had already gone through all of the other rules when we started giving them the other candy. Leave it in your mouth, no playing with it (they still do), and do not bite it because it gets hotter. Each time they repeat the rules.
So now that you have the background to the story, here is the main feature.
We were all going to see the baby and had all just had a piece of candy. They were told not to ask for another one and if they did ask - no more candy for them. (This helps cut down on the whining for candy. It is also comical to see them try to ask for it without asking for it. At one point Punky was calling them bananas.) We were taking pictures of Poppy (McD) holding the baby. I say we because I always have help. As I was taking the photos, Poohs walked over to me with a very mean look on his face telling me that he was ready to leave. It was difficult not to laugh. So I got the camera ready and asked him to make that face again so I could get a picture of his mean/mad face. (He loves having his picture taken, as long as he can see it right after it is taken. Thank goodness for digital cameras.) So he tried really hard to make the same mean face, but this time he had to cover up his smile . Doesn't he look mean to you?
Now if you know kids, you probably already have it all figured out. He only wanted to leave so he could get another piece of candy.
