The Virtual Baby Shower

Swampy is having a virtual baby shower for our friend Karmyn.  Here are a few things I have found for her and their new baby boy.

The Chair

I love this stroller too.

That site has some really cool stuff.  I love the Star Egg Nightlight

Oh, and here is the high chair I am getting her.  It is just too cute.  Kind of retro, what do you think?

And last but certainly not least...

A baby monitor.  Oh and I have a baby monitor story for you.  Hmmm, I will post that tomorrow.  It is hilarious.

I hope that you have a great baby shower.  I can't wait to see what all you get.  :)

Now get your hiney's in gear and go see who else is attending at Swampy's place.

New Found Blogs

Sites that are new to me, but loved by many...

Check out this ironing board cover.  ( iliketomakestuff )

This magazine bowl.  ( alittlehut )

How to make Chicken Stock. ( elise )

Praying Panties, um they just give me the heebie jeebies but the sunset with Sparkles is too cute.  ( Jaden's Steamy Kitchen )

I have been blog hopping.  What I do is find a new blog and then see a comment from someone that is funny, witty or even helpful.  Then I follow their link to their world.  I have found some really cool blogs and have realized just how small my little blog is.  :)  There are some really talented blogs out there.  I found many more out there, but I have to get to church I don't have time to link to all of them today.

I am Smitten

I am smitten with SmittenKitchen, Vicki first introduced this site and I wandered over thinking what in the world has she found now.  Then ta-da...bells rang and birds sang...it was SmittenKitchen.  I think this might be one of the best cooking blogs I have found.  They have put my two loves together...cooking and photography.  Look at those photos.   I don't want to waste any more of your time.  Get your hiney over there and check out the chocolate pudding recipe she has posted.  Yum-o!

Have a great weekend!!

Check This Out

Muncy has joined the blogging world.  FINALLY!!  After talking about it for about a month, she finally took a chance and jumped right in.  Let me tell you her blogging debut is fantastic.  Go on over and check out her lastest adventure.  And while you are there be sure to tell her who sent you there.  :)

Something else to check out, this is just fun!  I have to admit, I WANT ONE!!!
Cray4239bk
It's an Executive Ink Pen!  Isn't it the coolest?  I like the orange one.  Go to www.perpetualkid.com to check them out, as well as all the other fun stuff.   I am one of those weird people that start shopping for Christmas gifts in July.  It could be a very "colorful" Christmas.

McD's birthday is coming in December and I have a bunch of gifts to get for that too.  I may be asking for suggestions this year, I am running out of good ideas for his gifts.  Getting a package of socks and undies and distributing them out one pair a day just doesn't seem right.  :)

Shout out to Cheeky!

I have a little favor to ask.  My girl Cheeky posted 300 things about herself and we are trying to get 300 comments for her on this post.  So help a Cheeky out, would ya!?

I read her last hundred and realized just how much alike we really are.  Which is kind of scary!  :)

So head on over and tell her I sent ya!

Thank You, Thank You Very Much

Thinker

I'm honored to be named for the thinking blogger award by Vicki, THE Horny Redneck Christian Woman

One of the hardest things for me to do is pick 5 bloggers that I "think", get it Thinking Blogger Award, are deserving of this award.

I would have picked Vicki, but thanks to her I have been given this honor.  I would have picked Karmyn, but she is the one that honored Vicki.  Go check out the Diary of the Horny Redneck Christian (linked above) for most of the others I would have picked.

Here goes, in no particular order:

Cheeky, she is a Southern girl stuck in Minnefreakinsota, and she is awesome!

Tiggerlane, she  and I are both in the process of building new homes.  She just got back from a wonderful trip to D.C.  You must visit her and then her Flickr too.

The Arkansas Songbird at Quarter Notes.  I really wish I could hear her sing.  Check out the book she has posted about, I think I will.

Julie, no silly not me, Julie Carobini.  She is the author of the novel Chocolate Beach that was released this past February.  It is a Beach-Lit Blog, get it.  I love visiting her place.

And last but not least:
Anne Nahm, she is in panic mode about right now, go and see why.  She is really cool, too cool for a tagline.  :)

Enjoy your reading!

EDITED TO ADD:
I had one other person to give this award for but at the time I could not get her blog to come up, I feard the worst.  I emailed her to make sure she was still among the blogging and there she was.  Please go check out Amy.  She is going to be my personal tour guide when I go visit her neck of the woods!

It's A Small World After All

Wednesday night I received an email from a lady who had found my little ol' blog, through Ree.   She told me that her sister babysits and stuff for Missy, Ree's sister-in-law.  Then she said she was telling her daughter and son-in-law about reading my blog, and they were like, "That's Julie!"   As it turns out, I went to school with her son-in-law, and even graduated with him.  He is such a good guy!  MP if you are reading this, don't get the big head.  I know if you do, Mrs. MP will straighten you out!

At our first class reunion MP was most changed.  I think he grew half a foot after high school.  He was long and lean, wearing some pretty tight wranglers and was the same happy-go-lucky guy.  If you didn't like MP there was something seriously wrong with you.

At the second class reunion (15 year), I met his wife, Mrs. MP.  She is a very pretty girl and I honestly don't know what MP did to rope her in, but he did well.  She is a lot of fun to be around and is a genuinely sweet person.

Christy, you made my day with that email!  Thanks!

Fun Monday #3

Fun Monday #3 is being hosted by Swampwitch.  Our instructions were to post a link to our most memorable post.  The first post that came to my mind was  Hair Today Gone Tomorrow by Kelly

Kelly, I sure hope you don't mind.  The first time I read this post I laughed out loud.  The second time I read it out loud to McD and we both laughed out loud.  I even told friends about it so they could sit and laugh.  Then at lunch one day, she and I laughed about it again.

Laughter is the best medicine.  The least I can do is share this hilarious post with you.  If you are one of the people that have already read about her waxing experience, read it again.  I promise, you will at least giggle.

After you read this post, be sure to give Kelly your opinion on which colors she should paint the baby's nursery.

Next week Marnie will be hosting Fun Monday #4.
