No Evidence of Disease - N.E.D.

Updated to ask if anyone has checked this cd out?  This is a great way for you to donate to a great cause, and jam to some good music at the same time.  I have emailed Drew to ask how much of the proceeds go to the cause, and will update as soon as I hear back from him.  Please check this out.

A while back I was contacted by a guy named Drew.  He had a cd he wanted me to promote on my blog.  This is all very new to me, so I thought I better check the cd out before I put anything about it on here. 

This is what I received from him.  It was basically just the red envelope with the N.E.D. cd in it.  But when I opened the cd I felt like there was a lot more than just a cd.  This is one of the coolest things I have seen in a really long time.  

Let me tell you about N.E.D.  No Evidence of Disease is a group of board certified Gynocologic Oncologists, that are also musicians.  They have come together to help women in their fight against cancers of the reproductive system.

The booklet is full of information.   First of all, all of the lyrics are listed in there.  The is a section called, "What Every Woman Should Know."  And there is a section about the different types of Gynecologic Cancers.  Links to different websites with even more information, and a small section telling you what you can do to save lives and help spread the word.  (I am trying to spread the word here.)

Here's the letter that Drew sent with the cd.  I wasn't aware that September would be the 1st Annual Gynocologic Cancer Awareness month.  How cool is that?  Let's make people aware! 

This is the cover of the cd case.  There are a couple of widgets on here, one on the sidebar (that doesn't fit - I am going to talk to Drew about that), and one at the end of this post.  Please click on one of the widgets andd buy a cd.  We aren't asking you to walk all night long to raise money, we are only asking that you buy a cd and then enjoy listening to it.  Maybe you could buy it as a gift.  I don't know anyone that doesn't like music, and Christmas is right around the corner.  :)

Cake Wrecks

Have you ever had a cake wreck?  If so, did you send it a photo of it to Jen? 

I wasn't going to mention this until a little later, but I guess I will tell you now.  I am getting ready to have a few Cake Wrecks.  I probably won't send photos to Jen right away, but might later on. 

About a month or so ago, Muncy and I decided to take a cake decorating class.  I am so excited, but nervous all at the same time.  I am ready to go Ace of Cakes, or Cake Boss on them.  (That is the dream cakes, but in reality I will be lucky if my cakes look like they came from the local grocery store.) 

We are trying to get cleared to blog about our whole experience, but we haven't heard back yet.  What do you want to bet that Muncy and I both have our cameras the whole time.  :)  Until they shut us down. 

Our first class is the second week of September.  If we like it (read if we are good at it) we may decide to take the more advanced classes.  There are four in all.  I might be able to make my nephews 2nd birthday cake.  That would be cool.  Or it could be a Cake Wreck.  You have got to check that site out, it is great!

Every morning on my way to work I listen to my favorite radio station, BOB.  Anywhoo, the chickadee on there has a blog so I decided, after hearing about this blog for so long, to check it out.  Now I think you should too.

Late last night as I was driving home from my Grandparents house I began pondering what to blog about this morning.  There were all kinds of things floating around in my mind.  Not that it is large by any means, but I can think about a lot of things all at once.  McD on the other hand rarely thinks about anything.  Just ask him.  He will tell ya.  When I ask, he says "nothing."  

Me:  Whatcha thinkin' about?

McD:  Nothing.

OR 

Me:  Whatcha thinkin' about?

McD:  I don't know.  

Oh sorry, I have been sidetracked.  Here were a few of my thoughts on what I could blog about:

a) The Country Jamboree I attended with my Grandparents and Great Aunt & Uncle last night.  

b) A lady in our family that was admitted into the hospital last night and is in critical condition.  That one is a downer though.

See what I mean about thoughts floating around.  So while I was laying in bed this morning, dreading getting up and listening to McD breathe really loudly,  (He doesn't snore...really, he just breathes loudly)  I finally decided to find someone new on Sunday.  And I did!

I use Google Reader, and on this particular reader it has a "Discover" button.  When you click on this button it gives you a list of blogs and you just start clicking away until you find one you like.  This morning it took only one click.  ONE!  

I clicked on The Country Doctor's Wife and found Rechelle.  This is the first post of hers that I ever read, and I was hooked.  I have been reading all morning.  So, Rechelle if you check your stats and see that someone from Illinois is on your blog a lot this morning, it is just me.  And I am not really in Illinois, but apparently the satellite I am on is...I am in the great state of Oklahoma.  I love your blog!  Or should I say blogs!  I love, love your new sidewalk.  I am picking pumpkin with the brown glaze as the color for your hutch and I am going to see what the heck Letter Boxing is.  Gotta love google.  :)

The Virtual Baby Shower

I have been blog hopping.  What I do is find a new blog and then see a comment from someone that is funny, witty or even helpful.  Then I follow their link to their world.  I have found some really cool blogs and have realized just how small my little blog is.  :)  There are some really talented blogs out there.  I found many more out there, but I have to get to church I don't have time to link to all of them today.
