Lazy Days and Frogs
This is what I did yesterday...
What did you do over the long weekend?
I even tried a new recipe this weekend and I will share it tomorrow. It was yummy, not your typical sloppy joes. :)

Our neighbors, they live over a mile away, have a humongous garden. It is a 60' x 60' garden. That may not be big to some folks, but to me that is enormous. Here I was getting excited about my topsy turvy tomato plants. Well, that is a completely different story for a later time.
Here you can see some of the goodies they bring us. That white squash, that is what I call it since I do not know the correct name, kind of intimidates me. I have no idea how to cook them so I am afraid they will go bad, but they look pretty sitting in a bowl on the kitchen island.
One day I will have a garden. It will be a small garden, but I will have one...one day. I would love to plant cooking herbs in containers but I have yet to research how and what to plant. :) One day...
Hmmm, a three-day weekend, just what I need. I hope everyone has a great Labor Day Weekend! I will begin my celebrating by posting some new photos. Sunset photos for sure, who knows what else will end up in there. :) Hang on Muncy, they are coming. :)
Then next week I will have a ton of Macro shots. Why, you ask? Well, because a very special friend is loaning me her lens for a very long time. :) She's the best! I puffy heart her!
See you this evening!
That is exactly what chiggers do, they bite me. So do mosquitos, flies and ants. I must taste really good. For the past two weeks I have been fighting the urge to scratch my chigger bites. I tried all kinds of things, Cortaid creme and Skeeter Stick to just name a couple. When nothing worked I almost cried; that is when I turned to the world wide web.
There were a few people that sweared by the Cortaid creme, but it wasn't working for me. Then there were a few people that used Medicated Chest Rub (Vicks). I tried the chest rub for a few days and it seemed to help the itching sensation, although the greasy ointment and clothes just do not get along.
The bites were not getting any better though. All I was doing was stopping the itching for a brief period of time and then reapplying the ointment. So, off to the world wide web again...
Butt Paste! Several people said butt paste was the best thing for chigger bites. Off to the store I went. While looking at the rather expense butt paste (how many times can we say butt paste here?) I decided that Corona was good for diaper rash as well, some think it is even better so that is what I got. Corona Animal Ointment. I put that on one night, and the next morning I could see a difference. It didn't stop the itching as well as the chest rub, but it helped heal them. And the greasy stuff was much easier to sleep with, the paste made me stick to the sheets.
Live and learn I guess, hmmm. My bites are almost gone now, but I would still love to hear your remedies.
Around these parts school will be starting soon. There are school supplies out at all the store just waiting to be bought. There are even school supplies at the grocery store, we just didn't know they were considered school supplies until now. Check this out.
Did you know that you can use JELL*O for a great science experiment? Grow seedlings in jello and watch their root structures grow. The only thing I don't understand about all of this is what is in the jello to make the little seedlings grow? Don't they need soil and water? Maybe one of you can shed light on this for me.
Here is a useless bit of information. Well, useless to me, but maybe not to you. If you want to wrestle in Jello, pour 2,347 boxes of it into an eight-foot-square padded box, add boiling water and chill for two days. :)
If you know me at all, then you know I am talking about Baseball. I almost put "The Greatest American Sport of All," but it isn't just in America. Some of the best players in MLB (Major League Baseball) aren't even American.
Recently the All Star Game events were going on and I was planted on the couch watching. We watched the Home Run Derby, and Josh Hamilton smoked 28 in the first round it was awesome. I think he wore himself out, because he couldn't pull it off in the end. Oh well, it was pretty cool to watch.
Then after the Home Run Derby I watched the Celebrity Softball game, mainly because George Brett was there. I kind of like George.
And finally it came time for the All Star game. I always like to watch it from beginning to end, the introductions, the National Anthem, everything. Every year I sit in awe. Baseball fans are super loyal. If you don't think so, then just watch all the retired ballplayers being introduced. Listen to the crowd cheer for each and everyone of them. The cheers are louder for some than others, but they are all still loved by the fans no matter how long they have been retired.
Watching Yogi, Wille, Mr. October, Goose, and um...George among many others, stand out on the field again gives me goosebumps. Even if they are all wearing suits, just seeing them back on the field is awesome.
What is your favorite sport?
I had such good intentions for this week. I think my problem was that I didn't put a list together. I like lists!
I had planned to write everyday this week, and here it is Tuesday and I am just now getting to it.
I planned to get out and take some new photos, but it has been raining. I would rather it rain though, so I won't complain about that one.
The house is half way clean, and I wanted to take photos of a more decorated version of our new home.
Excuse: I have been working 11 hours a day and am pooped! I think I want my life back. I like my job, but I want my life back.
Question for all of you...
How do you get rid of dark circles around the eyes? I need help!
I will try to be back tomorrow. :)
This is where I plan to hang out this weekend. I may not have been able to sit on the dock of the bay in San Fran, but I will sit on my dock all day!

Be back next week! Have a great weekend!
So many of you were right! It is a Killdeer egg. I have to agree with Maybelline, if you read the comments you will know what I am talking about.
As you can see, this egg is cracked. Momma Killdeer laid her egg right smack dab in the middle of our driveway. We noticed her running and playing like she had a broken wing when we walked by but we never saw the egg. Then one day, as we were returning from the big pond, I saw it. So we marked the spot with some rocks so we wouldn't crush it.
We were constantly watching for the egg, but then the rains came. Approximately 18 inches of rain came, and Momma Killdeer disappeared. Still we continued to watch the egg. Then one day as we were walking by we noticed that it was cracked. The next day there were ants all over it.
We still haven't seen the Killdeers around. In a way I am glad. While they are cute little suckers, it drives me crazy when they lay their eggs in the middle of the road. We have yet to see little babie Killdeers, but maybe next year.
Oh, and sorry guys - no penny there.
Thanks for playing.
