A Flashback & Stuff

The other day I was scrolling through some of my older posts and I came across this one.  I just don't understand people that do not like cats, as I type this Mordecai is sitting on my shoulder.  Cats have such character and are so much fun to watch.

See... Puss in Boots, again.

I titled it Puss in Boots because of the movie Shrek, Mordecai looks just like him sometimes.  He and Mia are play fighting all the time now.  Mordecai will get under our bed and  Mia will run from side to side trying to get him.  While he is just sitting there under the bed out of reach.  What a pair.

I think I have been found.  I didn't tell anyone at work that I have this blog because what if I wanted to talk about them?  :)  Just kidding.  Really, I am just kidding.  It would take entirely too long to type everything about the people I work with.  They are all freaks!  Maybe that is why I fit right in, hmmm.  But I was going through my sitemeter stuff the other day just for the heck of it, and found where someone signed on to this blog from my office - yesterday at 11:06am.  At 11:06am I was pretty darn busy and I don't usually get on here from work because then someone might find me.  Geez.  It happened anyway.  Oh well.  I hope they are as bored as everyone else.  :)

The Trial
Well, news about the trial is slowing down.  Yesterday the prosecutors called witnesses and family members to tell how the defendant is such a bad man.  He is, there is no question about that, but now they know that he put a .22 rifle to his ex-wife's head when they were married and shot holes in their ceiling, etc.  Then family members were called to give their statements.  These are the things I would not have wanted to hear.  I would have been crying like a baby if I were there.  The defense will call character witnesses today and then deliberation will begin again.  (From what I gathered when I was sitting next to the defendant's mother, they hired this defense attorney, they were talking about paying him and amounts, etc.  I could be wrong, but that is kind of what I gathered as well as a few others sitting close by.)

The sentencing for grand larceny was 25 years and 40 years for possession of a firearm by a felon.  I will post when I find out what sentence they give him for the first degree murder.

Bad Kitty!!

Bowl1

I could have killed this cat.  Mordecai is well known for sleeping in some pretty strange places.  I have told you about his box.  He also likes sleeping in the clothes hamper, in cabinets, and in very high places (on top of cabinets).

One evening McD and I had settled into the living room to watch some television, who knows what we were watching but we kept wondering where Mordecai was.  Both of the dogs were lying in front of us, snoring...just like they are doing now.  But Mordecai was missing.  We kind of blew it off because you know, he could have opened the bathroom cabinet door and be laying in there (he's done it before).

McD went into the kitchen to get a snack and heard a noise.  He didn't think much of it and continued with what he was doing.  Then he heard it again, but a little bit louder.  It was Mordecai trying to get his attention with half-hearted meows.  McD looked everywhere for him, called him several times and then found him.  Mordecai had found a new place to sleep.  He also got in a ton of trouble and I had a lot of work to do.

I know you are dying to find out where he was, so click here

Fun Monday

Funmonday

Lisa's Chaos is hosting this weeks Fun Monday.  She wants to see our pets.  Well, we all know that I love taking photos of my furrbabies.  So here they are...
Hoss1508 Hoss, our Rottie, is 11 years old.  He was born on my Dad's and Jer's birthday, so it is really easy to remember when to make him pancakes.  Yes, really.

Mia1508 Mia, our Weimaraner, is 4 years old.  She found us a while back and loves her new home.

Mordecai1308 Mordecai, aka Puss in Boots, is the king of our house.  He is 7 years old, and has all of his 9 lives...I think.  His favorite foods are Cool Whip, cheese, and butter, oh and of course, tuna.  He is the funniest cat, he will eat just about anything.

Hope you enjoyed meeting my kiddos, cause they are more than just pets.  I can't wait to meet yours.  Head on over to Lisa's Chaos to see everyone else's pets.

Then there's the box...

I decided to continue with yesterday's product review on Muck Boots, except this time it we are talking about the box the boots come in.  I normally don't have a great use for the boxes my shoes/boots come in but this time I do.

Mordecai has adopted this box as his own.  I almost threw it away a couple of times because really, it is just in my way.  But he loves his box.

Now how can you take the box away when you see this almost daily?

Not only does he sleep on it, he plays with it too.  He is ate up with this box.  So there, you get the boots and your cat can have the box.  It is a two-in-one deal.

Best Friends

Aspen2

This is Aspen.  Aspen left us yesterday morning to go be with all those other doggies in the sky.  You do know that All Dogs Go to Heaven.  :)  It was very sudden and for that we can be thankful.  I can't stand to watch an animal suffer.

Aspen belonged to my oldest Step-son, Jer.  I believe he was either the same age as Hoss, which is 11 or 77 for all you other doggies out there.  He was Jer's best friend.  They did everything together.  Aspen was wonderful with the kiddos.  He was just an amazing dog and we are all going to miss him.

If you would like to leave your condolences for Jer, Em, Poohs and Punky here I am sure they will see them.

Then Mia gets a little playful.

Mordecai got a little ticked off.  The eyes say it all.

Mia didn't take the hint.

Meet "Puss in Boots" Mordecai.

The battle ended there.  I am sure that won't be the last time though.  All of these photos were taken through the window so they aren't too great.

Talk About Spoiled

Mordecai getting a drink.

This is one spoiled kitty cat.  When I am getting ready in the mornings he thinks he needs to get a drink.  Not out of his water bowl, out of the bathtub faucet.  I am not really sure how it all started because he is just like all the other cats.  He hates water.  But he will get in the tub, meow until someone turns on the faucet and then drinks until he can't drink anymore.

What is really bad about this whole deal is that we actually turn the water on for him.  I keep telling him he needs to learn to shut the water off when he is finished, but he doesn't listen.

Momma Mia

Mia in the September Sun.

Look at that fat belly! Oh my goodness! Mia has gained quite a bit of weight. She is fat and sassy! HA!

I took a little que from Willowtree and did a pet post. My animals, at least Hoss and Mordecai, go under the blankets and then back up to the pillow so their head is out of the blanket. They are such funny animals.

Another Adorable Stray

What an adorable face. I love big dogs. The bigger the better. As a kid I had a St. Bernard, Cindy. One of my best friends had two Great Danes, not at the same time though. Now I have my Rottie and Weimaraner.

This guy walked up to the house in August. He was so friendly and loving. He got some water and some rest. He hung around for quite a while. I called several people trying to find an owner and couldn't find one. McD said that he would probably just go home. I had errands to run so I took off and when I returned he was gone. I know that we didn't need another dog, but this one McD would have wanted to keep. And I would not have been able to say no.

I sure hope he found his way home.

A Man's Best Friend

Everyone, meet Susie. She belongs to a friend of ours, Chuckles. In fact, you can also find her on Ree's post about a long day on horseback. I have even mentioned her in my post Monday Monday back in August. She is a very loving dog. Spoiled! Talented. (How many dogs do you know that can ride a horse?)

I love Jack Russells, but I only want one if it acts like Susie.
