Here it is folks! It's 2008 and what better way to start the year by winning something. I have decided to do something a little different. I thought about going out and buying something ungodly expensive and just giving it away to a random commenter. Then I decided that I wanted to make the giveaways in 2008 a little more, I don't know unique.
The first giveaway is a bookmark just like this one. Not this one, well because it was a Christmas gift for a good friend of mine.
Don't you just love the look of the wood behind the bookmark? I do!
While I was making this particular bookmark I decided that I would make every giveaway prize this year. I do one giveaway a month, that's only 12 things I have to make. I may make 12 bookmarks, or maybe a bread cloth, kitchen towel, etc. I decided on this bookmark because I already have one and I have all the floss out and in one place. :)
Here are the rules:
Anyone is eligible to win, ANYONE! I have asked for specifics in previous giveaways and somehow I always end up getting someone that just puts, "please enter me." Well, I would enter you but you didn't follow the rules. (Okay, I entered them anyway but please try to follow the rules.) Granted we all know Swampy will bend the rules. This is expected and will more than likely will feel slighted if she actually follows the rules. :)
Here is what I want to know...what are you reading, what have you read recently and/or what is your favorite book. The reason I have given so many things you can answer is because this is a random drawing. The more questions you have to answer the more times your name is in the hat. If you have read 10 different books, name them all...in different comments. One book per comment will get you more chances. 10 books in 1 comment will get you 1 chance. Get it? Got it? Good.
I will be announcing the winner tomorrow morning! So you have until Sunday to get your entries in, this means 12:00 am on Sunday.
Good luck everyone!
I have two "gifts that got away". The first was the Christmas of 6th grade. All the "cool" 6th grade girls were wearing white Izod shirts and black skinny leg cords with the zipper at the bottom (from Miller's Outpost). I asked my Grandma for this EXACT outfit for Christmas and instead I got a maroon Izod shirt and lavender cords. Just wasn't the same.
The other one was last year. I had been wanting the Willow Tree Nativity for a couple of year and last year I bought it for myself in October with some money that I had earned and even had it gift wrapped at the store. I was so excited each time I caught a glimpse of it in my closet. In November my sister asked if I would be upset if she asked for and got the same Nativity for Christmas. Then she found out that her husband had already picked something out for her present and she wasn't going to get it for her after all. In December I snuck over to her house and put it under her tree when noone was home. Her reaction was totally worth the sacrifice. I still need a nativity, but now I like the new one better anyway.
