Hello everyone! Here is another chance to win an autographed copy of Ree's new book, The Pioneer Woman Cooks. This cookbook is flying up the charts, in fact it should be #1!!
Last night I made her brisket, and her yummy mashed potatoes. McD's mouth was watering before he even got his plate. This is really good food ya'll!
All you have to do is leave a comment. Tell me something you are thankful for. I am thankful for so many things, and I will list my between now and Thanksgiving day. Again, EVERYONE is eligible for this giveaway, no matter where you live.
This will be a random drawing, so you all know what that means. Instead of leaving me a two page comment of what all you are thankful for, you should spread them out into numerous comments. Your chances of winning would be greater that way. :) You can comment/enter as many times as you like, just as long as you enter before November 10th at 9 pm CST. I will post the winner Wednesday, Nov 11th bright and early. :)
This post will remain at the top of the page until Wednesday. Sorry for the sticky post, but I just had too.
Good luck!

I am so very thankful and grateful to now have all the things that we need month to month.

I read that one of the keys to happiness is: Instead of having all that we want, we should want all that we have.
So I am thankful and grateful that I want all that we have.

I am thankful and very grateful to have finally found doctors who want to help me recover my daughter from vaccine induced autism, which also resulted in a seizure disorder. It finally happened just before she turned 17 and is still in progress.

And so for some "not really necessary" things I am thankful and grateful for: The dishwasher and the digital timer on the built-in overhead microwave/vent hood.
Posted by: Southern and GFCF | November 08, 2009 at 02:39 PM
And some not necessary but really sorta necessary things I am thankful/grateful for: The home security system, the computer w/ cable connection... (not to be confused with the cable TV connection because that IS necessary when you have a developmentally disabled child.)

I am grateful for Ree's "how to cook a steak" recipe becuse we have no grill to cook a steak on outside (or inside) and we had not had steak in way too many months until I saw that recipe. And now, thanks also to so many boneless ribeye steak sales at Publix, we have had more steak in the past two months than we have had in the past 10 years. I kid you not. Delicious, tender ribeye steak cooked on a stove. Who knew?

Sometimes, it is hard to think positivly, and find anything to be grateful about...
That is when I focus on the ... well... weird.
I am grateful that the lady with the baby over there can laugh with the child.
I am grateful that the old couple ~ the ones of indeterminate age over there ~ can hold hands in public.
That the coffee that I am drinking is supporting someone...somewhere in the world...
yeah, weird stuff... but it keeps me going, and sooner or later, I find SOMETHING in my own life that I am grateful for.
yeah, I have to kick my perspective about a bit sometimes I guess.
:-)
